Timber operations optimisation and recovery

We are offering an exciting opportunity for an astute self motivated person to join our team in this newly created position.
Reporting to the Business Development Manager this position will contribute to the growth and profitability of the company through managing and coordinating systems and controls to ensure optimal and accurate recovery of product.
This is a hands on role managing the day-to-day electronic scanning and process optimisation systems, with responsibility spanning all facets of AKD’s operations. The Recovery Champion must ensure calibration and alignment of equipment is scheduled and performed according to clearly defined procedures.
The position uses strong technical and research capabilities to enhance AKD’s product recovery processes and systems, and to increase product value and quality. Using data driven outcomes and problem solving skills, the position must foster and promote a proactive continuous improvement culture.
This is a fulltime position based out of our main site of Colac; a regional city located in the fully serviced South West Victorian region– part of the rapidly growing Otway Ranges, 40 minutes to Lorne and The Great Ocean Road, and 1 hour to Geelong.
The 'right' person:
The 'right' person will be technically strong, with a mature, consultative, problem solving approach.
With a qualification (ideally tertiary) in Engineering, Systems, IT or other relevant discipline; this role will suit a proactive, energetic and results driven achiever looking for an exciting challenge.
Sound electronic systems trouble shooting skills and in depth understanding of timber recoveries and scanning technologies is required. The individual must be willing to be actively involved in the day-to-day production processes, identifying and rectifying problems at the source.
Attention to detail, strong communication skills and the credibility to deal with a range of internal and external stakeholders, will be important.
