Day Shift - Green Mill Colac

AKD are seeking a motivated, experienced, and driven individual to join our team in the position of Production Team Leader. The role of Team Leader is to contribute to the overall success of the business by focusing on safety, training and rotation of employees at the Green Mill Colac on day shift.

The fundamental purpose of this position is to provide support and assistance to the Shift Supervisor in coordinating and overseeing activities associated with specific production centres such as the mainline operation, trimsaw, sorter and stacker area. This position will assist in driving the safe and efficient management and operations of the sawmill, by creating and supporting a fun and engaging work environment, that supports individuals to develop and succeed in their roles.

Based in the Green Mill at Colac, the Team Leader must have a strong commitment to people, safety and a focus and passion for continuous improvement. This position will also enhance the candidate’s future career opportunities within AKD.

Key duties & responsibilities:

  • Leading and developing a strong team to achieve performance while maintaining our Zero Harm culture
  • Continually improve housekeeping standards across the site
  • Drive continual improvement and instil it into the culture
  • Continually develop an engaged workforce that feel rewarded for effort
  • Strong verbal and written communicational skills
  • Able to understand and implement high-level technical information
  • Strong commitment and desire to learn and achieve
  • Able to work methodically and strictly adhere to a procedure
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to lead, develop and motivate others​​​​​​​
