As we celebrate Australian Made Week 2025, we’re taking a moment to recognise the incredible people behind AKD – the ones who bring our timber to life everyday across our sites and communities.

From humble beginnings in 1955 to becoming Australia’s largest softwood sawmilling business, we’ve remained 100% Australian Made and Owned – three generations strong. What started as a local family operation has grown into a business with sites across Queensland, New South Wales, and Victoria, while still holding onto the values that shaped us.

From out in the forest, across our production lines, and behind the scenes in the offices, our employees proudly posed with the green and gold kangaroo logo – showing just how much it means to be part of AKD… and it shows!
