This opportunity is at our Portland Pine Products, round wood operation, located in Heywood, in Victoria’s Southwest, approximately one hour from the South Australian border and Mount Gambier and approximately one hour from Warrnambool.

PPP are seeking an experienced person to support the growth of the business, with the Sales Representative having responsibility for Sales and Dispatch at our Heywood site and providing support to the Morwell Distribution Centre when required. This role will be a key position within our business, leading a team of 5 to 8 people, reporting to the Post & Poles General Manager.

This is a full-time position of 38hrs per week, Monday to Friday. You may be required to work a reasonable amount of overtime as required to meet the demands of the business and fulfil the duties and responsibilities of the role. You need to be reliable, flexible and will be required to demonstrate a commitment to Workplace Health and Safety. This role may require you to undergo training which the company will support you in.

The Sales Representative will be responsible for and overseeing tasks such as:

  • Achieve growth and hit sales targets
  • Design and implement a strategic business plan that expands company’s customer base and ensure its strong presence
  • Build and promote strong, long-lasting customer relationships by partnering with them and understanding their needs
  • Identify emerging markets and market shifts while being fully aware of new products and competition status
  • Coordination of daily loading plans and delivery schedules
  • Communicating with and coordinate contractors and customers
  • Entering orders, delivery dockets and invoices
  • Dispatch and receipting loads

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Previous experience as a sales representative or sales manager, consistently meeting or exceeding targets
  • Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close
  • Strong business sense and industry expertise
  • Excellent computer and customer service skills
  • Great attention to detail and accuracy
  • Well established organisation, planning and time management
  • Ability to build working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders
  • A strong attitude towards health, safety & wellbeing
  • Experience in the transport/logistics industry would be advantageous
