We are offering an opportunity for an energetic and self-motivated person to join our team in pursuit of Saw Technician. This position will service and maintain our sawing systems to ensure our product and our processes are to the highest quality. This role will have ongoing development through the AKD Saw Technician Pathways Program. People with trade backgrounds or similar experiences are also encouraged to apply.

This is a full-time position based at our Colac site, we are looking at positions for day / afternoon or night shifts and can involve some rotating of shifts as needed, we are open to flexible and casual shift hours to cover service work requirements. The role will involve all aspects of sawing performance using the latest technology available. This position would suit a hardworking and results driven applicant that is looking for a ‘hands on’ position with career development with an innovative timber manufacturing business running the latest technology in Saw Milling equipment.

AKD has multiple Sawmill sites and opportunities across the sites is also available.

We are passionate about developing and investing in our Sawshop operations and teams.

Key duties and responsibilities:

• Maintaining saws, knives, sawmill machines, tools, and sawing performance performance to a high standard
• Working with the teams to complete alignments, services and monitoring sawing machines across the sites.
• Be trained and assist in running CPI based service routines.
• Be multi skilled across all hands-on Saw Technician tasks or similar.
• Work closely within the Saw Technicians Team to perform routine service work and preventative maintenance to ensure our saws and processes.

• Ability to work alone or as part of a team.

Qualification Preferences: Complete or underway Trade certificate in Saw Doctoring or Maintenance Trades, Post trade certificates, Manufacturing/Process Improvement experience, Leadership.
